A construction company in Hong Kong needed to help its site teams understand the importance of financial management and created a program
which included “6 Golden Rules” which extended their focus to financial
as well as construction issues. In other words, don’t just build it,
let’s make it profitable.
Details:
The program addressed all stages of a project – however, the Dotmocracy sheets were used to get feedback on 5 key issues relating to execution of the project – a sample of one of the sheets is attached.
The great benefit of the process is that not only is it a good way to introduce movement and participation, it provides ways that people not “in the loop” at the centre can express their views openly. The meeting and the discussions were conducted in a combination of English and Cantonese – if we needed to we could simply write the Chinese characters and vote away!
The honesty with which people completed the process is reflected in the fact that over a total of 2 days, 60 people gave their feedback – there were exactly 60 dots on each of the 5 pages used.
